BRITISH PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS 2008
British Professional Photography Awards to return to Newcastle, 19 October 2008For the second year the British Professional Photography Awards will be held at the Newcastle Hilton Hotel, overlooking the historic bridges, quays, and castle from the South Bank of the River Tyne.
The Awards showcase the very best of British and international talent of members of both the Master Photographers Association and the British Institute of Professional Photography. This is the fifth year of the combined Awards, which attracts a wide range of styles across the full spectrum of professional image making. The Competition is supported by major names within the industry and two leading bridal magazines.
For 2008, the emphasis is on the Awards Dinner, the supporting exhibition and the trade show. Only one AGM will be held (MPA) and there will no seminars. The trade show will be running from 10am to 4pm Sunday with plenty of demonstrations and special offers.
Sponsored by PhotoShield Insurance, the Awards Dinner programme is followed by live entertainment. As usual, a celebrity guest speaker will assist in handing out the trophies. Last year's guest, Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet, also sang a few songs!
Qualified members of the MPA and BIPP are invited to submit their entries now for the 2008 Awards. The winning images will make up an exhibition traveling throughout the UK and overseas. Entry is open to all qualified members of the MPA and BIPP.

There is no limit to the number of entries from each member. Closing
Date: 28th July 2008. Entry fee £8.50/print.
